Our Mantra:

I am THAT which is worthy, and completely open to receive, every single day, in every way, with every breath I take.

Synthesize. Integrate. Bloom...Hamsa!

In the beginning...

I began my yoga teaching career in 2002. Living in Rosehill, Texas I quickly gained students and interest at the Tomball College, Southeast Tae Kwon Do Center, and the Tomball Fitness Center. I continued to learn and gather information to answer a few very deep questions about the meaning of life while living on my lovely little farm that I had purchased during a three-year sabbatical from the city. Those were very transformative years.

In 2004, I began teaching more in Houston at the JCC, The Houstonian, The Good Space, and other places. Driving back and forth to the country became more of a chore than a pleasure. It is very difficult to be in two places at the same time. I hesitated to sell the farm but I felt that I had no choice. I moved to the City of Bellaire and it was during these next three years that I developed a following in Houston and was convinced by my lovely friend and student Brittany Smith to teach five of my most dedicated students about the art of yoga. They became the first teacher training group and in many ways Jennyoga's fantastic five!

We met at my house every week and spent a significant amount of time together exploring yoga, its teachings and Vinyasa Flow. Brit's love and enthusiasm encouraged me to move forward with a formal teacher training, becoming Yoga Alliance certified at the end of 2007 when we opened our doors at Jennyoga on Westheimer. Since then I have personally trained 22 people in the art of Vinyasa Flow.  The majority of my teachers have gone through the training. Only a few specialty classes have teachers who have not.

I am honored to have met and acquaint myself with each of the ladies and gents who have pushed through the program and are now family. Courage, passion, resilience, discipline and dedication are what it takes to become a yoga teacher. Much of yoga is also learning how to run your own "yoga business" and expose yourself to students in many settings. I am happy to share all that I have learned over the years with those who are eager to learn and live passionately. Yoga is a journey, and the journey continues until the day we take our last breath. There is always something new to learn and share. There are no straight lines, only winding paths to enlightenment. Yoga is a discipline that can help guide you toward Moksha. Namaste'
