Studio Etiquette
Our studio is an intimate, warm, and welcoming space—and we value our studio community. There are a few guidelines we ask everyone to follow in order to maintain this environment.
Please arrive 10 minutes before your class begins so that you have time to sign in and get settled. It is disruptive to the class if students arrive late, so please make an effort to show up on time. However, sometimes being late is unavoidable—don’t let being a couple minutes late stop you from coming to class, but try not to let it be a habit either.
Keep in mind that students in the yoga rooms can hear what goes on in the waiting area, so talk quietly to avoid disturbing any classes currently going on—especially since they are likely in Savasana.
We have cubbies in the waiting area, which is locked when unattended. Please turn off your cell phone and leave it in the cubbies with your personal belongings. Don’t leave anything valuable in your car—in the past cars parked along the bike trail have fallen prey to smash and grab attacks—your purse, wallet, etc. will be safer inside the studio. Refrain from wearing shoes into the yoga rooms, leave them in the cubbies too.
Drink plenty of water before, during, and after class. We suggest bringing your own reusable water bottle to minimize our environmental impact. In the back of the studio, near the restrooms, we have filtered water you can fill your bottle with.
For your convenience, we have mat rentals and hand-towel rentals, which are each $1. Please help us to keep the space tidy, after practice help to put your props, rented items, etc. away neatly.
We are the only donation-based studio in Houston, and as such are a strong community. We are happy to have you join us, regardless of how much you can afford to pay. We suggest $10-15 per class, but leave the ultimate decision in how much to pay up to you. Try to balance what you would like to pay based off of the benefit you derive from yoga with what you can manage and will allow you to keep coming back.
Most importantly, enjoy your practice, and let us know if you have any questions or we can serve you better.
